Trompe L'Oeil lesson #1
Trompe L'Oeil is proving to be one of the most difficult things I have ever tried to learn. I have had to start from the basics again. Using shadow and light to create dimension is one of the first things that I had to learn again. It is essential in creating depth. Below is a painting where all I did was try to create an outward tile and the hole it goes in. It is not perfect structurally, but I learned the importance of light and shadow.

3D design
So the project assignment today in 3d design is to make a sculpture using a minimum of 5 planes, 1 intersecting, and one ajoining corner. so I'm sitting here past my bedtime steaming a peice of Balsa wood into a shape. Though my origional design required a opposing arc, I think I'm going to change it to make a circle, and work with it. My house smells like a lumber yard now.
